1. Pride in nation instills loyalty to nation.
2. Declaration was when we formally broke away from English rule. Constitution outlines our rights as citizens, states, and nation.
3. Holy crap. Same as above? Written word is far more powerful than spoken.
4. They were amazing intellects with incredible foresight into challenges a nation could face, both as a new country and future challenges. They believed in liberty and the rights of people to live without church and government interference. Interesting that they didn't consider the rights of slaves at the same time.
5. Holy crap again. Not sure when it was written... Philadelphia?
6. Church shouldn't influence government, just as government can't interfere with the worship rights of churches. Freedom of speech is great, as long as it's not slanderous, libelous, defame character, etc.
7. Pursuit of happiness, free speech, bear arms.
8. Not completely. should.
9. Of course it's important and now I'm ashamed for not having read it completely! It's especially important NOW as we see today's government stripping away our freedoms in the name of "anti terror" efforts.
