Ever Watch HGTV?

There’s a show I really like on HGTV.  The show is called Redesign.  That’s what I need.  I really need a redesigned site.  I am not happy with any of the themes wordpress offers.

I’m not much of a designer.  I can come up with an idea one day and then the next, an entirely different idea. What can I say?  I like change.

EXPECT LIGHT SNOW TO INCREASE IN INTENSITY THIS MORNING WITH PERIODS OF HEAVY WET SNOW EXPECTED THROUGH MUCH OF THE DAY INTO THIS EVENING. SNOWFALL RATES OF ONE INCH OR MORE ARE POSSIBLE. IN ADDITION…WINDS GUSTING TO 20 TO 30 MPH LATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO TONIGHT WILL PRODUCE AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW. HOWEVER…LOCATIONS NORTH OF A LINE FROM SILVER CITY TO MASS CITY MAY SEE SNOW CHANGE OVER TO RAIN BRIEFLY THIS AFTERNOON. NONETHELESS...SNOWFALL TOTALS BY MONDAY MORNING OF 9 TO 18 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE…WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS FROM IRONWOOD INTO THE PORCUPINE MOUNTAINS.

A HEAVY SNOW WARNING MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL… KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT…FOOD…AND WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.

THE NORTHERN HALF OF THE KEWEENAW PENINSULA MAY SEE THE RAIN CHANGE TO SNOW SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND LESSER SNOW AMOUNTS. NORTH WINDS GUSTING TO 30 MPH AT TIMES SUNDAY NIGHT MAY CAUSE BLOWING SNOW AND SHARPLY REDUCED VISIBILITIES IN EXPOSED OPEN AREAS.

A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL. CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS.

When I wake on Christmas Eve, There is a potential of 10 inches going to be on the ground.  Oh boy!!!!  Pictures will be posted.

Day 2 Milwaukee

It’s been an exciting trip so far. After we landed in Chicago and waited for what seemed like forever for one luggage bag, we got the rental car and headed north to Richfield, WI. This is where we will stay until we leave Saturday morning.

Todd’s cousin had to work a half day on friday, so when we awoke, the house was ours. We awoke to knuckles on the floor next to us. Knuckles is a huge black lab. WOW! when I say huge, I mean he is a BIG OL DOG! Knucks like to have attention and play.

We headed for the town for most of the day. Our first stop was Wendy’s. Since it was about 1030 a.m. we weren’t getting breakfast and wendy’s sounded good. Boy was it! As the fog lifted a bit while we were eating, there it was. A big red circle with a dot in the center. TARGET, we found it. We spent an hour or so in there. After all, we still had a few gifts to buy. :)

Thankfully enough, Target has those electric wheelchairs. Have I mentioned how much fun those things are? Well they are. Then we headed over to Brookfield Mall. They did not have electric wheelchairs, but they did have the traditional ones so Todd got to push me around.

For the last few hours of day 2 we had dinner with the family at a mexican restaurant. YUMMY! I met many of the cousins from this area. The oldest and his girlfriend wanted to take us and show us some of the gay scene here. We went to a club called Kruz. If I were to compare this bar to one in Nashville, I’d say it was a tribe, trax kind of mix. All this place needed was a dance floor. Dancing could have easily enhanced the mood last night.

After we left Kruz, we went to a straight bar where the rest of the family had gathered. It was a lively place. Very friendly too.j

We finally got back to the house and in bed just before midnight.  When our eyes pop open and feet hit the ground it’ll be a six hour trip north to Ironwood.

I’ll be blogging from the road.

Day 1 Travel Part 2

So we left off last night where we were getting ready to board the plane to Chicago.  I was privileged enough(really it was cursed but,) to get a preboarding pass thanks to my leg being in the boot.  They called for preboarding, told me to stand in the hall(which was something I was trying not to have to do) I ended up staying for more than 10 minutes. URgghh!

Todd wanted a window seat so I told him I would try.  I was so tired by the time I got onboard I picked the very first seat.   This older lady wanted to sit with us, so I let her sit next to the window, Todd sat in the middle, and I sat on the aisle side.  Can I just say that the very first seat has the most leg room?  Yeah!  It really does.  There were two windows where we sat, so Todd got to look out one, while the older lady sat next to the other.

The plane ride was VERY bumpy.  There was so much turbulence that the flight attendants didn’t even get to move around. Wow what a ride.

We landed in Chicago on time (730pm) Made it toward the baggage claim and slowly waited on our luggage to appear.  about 20 minutes later we had three bags.  We were still waiting for the last one an hour and half later.  We decided to go and talk to the baggage people.  They said if they found it they would deliver it to us here in Milwaukee.

As we left, I looked over at the next carasoul, and guess what I saw?  That’s right, the other bag.  How in the hell did one bag make it over to the other side?  Beyond me I say.  Anyhow, we got it and didn’t have to wait.  After all, it had all of my personal items in it.

We got the rental car and headed north.  We are now in Milwaukee and very well rested.  Did I mention the rental car is a brand new 2008 ford fusion.  Yeah, awesome car!  It has Sirius satilite radio, bluetooth enabled also.  So cool.  Oh, I can also hook my Ipod up to the radio.  You know I’m in heaven, all these new gadgets to play with.

Day 1 Travel

Well, I’ve worked most of the day.  Now I’m sitting at the airport waiting on the flight to the “Windy City” (Chicago for those that do not know) We are sitting at gate c-19 patiently waiting for the southwest plane to arrive.

It didn’t take to long to get through security.  We really breezed right through.  Although, since I’m wearing a boot, security had to “pat me down.”  That was fine.  The guy doing the patting was really HOT. =)

Nashville Airport’s new remodel looks really good.  We ate at the new O’charley’s here and the service wasn’t bad, but the food…..well wasn’t the best.

I’m almost out of battery, so for now, good night all!  See you when i get to Milwaukee!!!!!  Then it’s off to Ironwood Michigan

Never Thought I Would Say This

You’ve seen it on TV, you’ve heard it on the radio.  I called, I got the quote.  Switching my insurance will save me money, not only on my autos, but my home too!

That’s right folks, I am going to save about $800 a year by switching, but not to Geico.  State Farm has my homeowners insurance.  Since my auto policy is up for renewal, I thought I’d let State Farm give me a Quote.  Turns out I’m going to save, save, save!!!

Awesome!  I think I’m switching my auto insurance.

It’s always interesting to hear how some people injure themselves.  You see someone you know, on crutches, or a cast on their arm, you ask them what happened.  It’s curiosity that makes us question.

Well this morning I was starting my bus and as I stepped off on the grass, I slipped and fell.  Now, I’m in a boot.  YEY.

You know, I never really envied those kids or adults that had accidents.

Giving Thanks

Though the days are busy, and life takes over, let’s remember those that are less fortunate than ourselves.

Being thankful is so much more than remembering the past, it’s about seeing the future and knowing where you can go.

I’m so thankful for the people in my life.  My sister and kids that live 10 hours away, are so precious to me.  I’m thankful for  the ability to read others thoughts, to see the beautiful colors of the fall, and smell the rain coming down. I’m thankful for my home, and the dogs(even though they bring dirt into my dining room)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
