Tax Surplus

Looks like the state of Tennessee is going to have more money at the end of this fiscal year. What are they going to do with it? As I’m reading through the tennessean, there are a few suggestions.

To name a few, give the money back to the tax payer, put the money in a rainy day fund, put it in the budget and help the communities with their projects, or have a tax free holiday on food.

I for one lean towards the rainy day fund. You can not predict the future. Who knows what will happen with the weather, or a disaster of any form. The money in a rainy day fund will earn compound interest and be available for the people if they need it.

I would also like to see that money going back to help people with healthcare issues.
